ELECTRICIAN - TILLSONBURG, ON (FOOD MANUFACTURING)

A manufacturing facility near Tillsonburg, ON is in need of an Electrician. This is a permanent role directly with the employer.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct the installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, fixtures, control devices and equipment
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement system including downtime tracking, line efficiency monitoring and other metrics to improve the efficiency of the production plant
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment and components
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Design, implement and manage a master preventive maintenance plan
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks

Qualifications:

  • Ticketed Electrician with processing line experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics (PLC), boilers, air conditioning, and welding
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment and work well under pressure
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures
  • Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer literate
  • Electrical and mechanical skills and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with OEE and working within a Continuous Improvement Team
  • Implementation of Root Cause Analysis practices and improvement
  • Experience in managing spare parts inventory
